Students taking part in the Herald’s StoxSmart competition had a chance to meet with State Treasurer Steven Grossman earlier this week. They chatted over ice cream about the unpredictability of the stock market and trusting your instincts.
The students, who have the chance to change their portfolios this week, gained valuable insight in investments, finances, and making decisions that will surely help them in the competition.

A local program has been helping high school students develop their entrepreneurial skills. Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) is an educational program that teaches students how to think like entrepreneurs and act like business owners.
Recent graduates of the program have gone on to open storefront and online businesses and work in real estate investment, management, and youth mentor programs.
NFTE aims to combat youth unemployment and encourage students to take control of their futures.
